3rd Blog Post Song Chosen:  Dreaming with Tears in My Eyes by Jimmie Rodgers   The emotion I get from this song is yearning and melancholy. The lyrics are coming from a place of grief and longing, however, the way he is singing and the simplicity of the guitar give it a more upbeat feeling.  The lyrics and music interact in a boring way in my opinion, the guitar is almost painfully repetitive. They fit each other well though, I just wish this song had more variety. This song surprised me because the singer used a little bit of yodeling near the end. Yodeling always takes a bit of talent to master and make it sound good. He may not be belting the yodels, but to do it so softly and quietly takes so much voice control. The music surprised me because I didn't expect a woman to be singing, as it says the composition is by Duke Ellington. I am thoroughly surprised by the gorgeous tone of her voice and how easily she can include vibrato. It's not meant to show off her talent, but add to the feeling of the piece. This piece has a tenor saxophon...
